The morning drizzle and gloom lifted just in time for a young Rangers team to arrive on Alderney many for their first time for this Division one fixture. A bonus for both teams with the added attraction of playing for the Baker Cup (a regular competition when Guernsey Rangers visit Alderney some good information on the Alderney FC website). The Nomads on the back of a successful victory over Priaulx side Belgrave Wanderers last week, started well and soon opened their account, a Parry shot from outside the box where he found himself with some space to line it up! 1-0. J Adamson, Connor and Dante were linking up well and creating issues for Rangers, with Jack Ives in the no10 role pressing with intent, defensively all being tidied up nicely, well martialed by Concanen a comfortable start for the blues. 20mins a blatant handball, Dante stepping up to cooly make it 2-0, the Nomads were forced into an early sub as D Carre was replaced by Taylor an unfortunate nose injury for him. Ronan did make a good save from Rangers no7 a rare incursion, but soon the action was back in the Rangers half, captain Andy sent over a superb cross which Connor met but couldn’t guide to the target. Goal of the game 3-0 Dante controls, nutmegs a defender, charges into the box and hits with venom a shot the keeper has no chance.
Half Time Alderney 3-0 Rangers res
Two minutes into the 2nd half Taylor gets himself on the scoresheet assist by partner forward Dante a very composed finish by the young man 4-0, soon became 5-0 Alderney pressing caused mistakes at the back and Carre placed the ball into an empty net from the corner of the box. Rangers did manage to get themselves on the score sheet our own slight mix up at the back from a corner 5-1, another Dante assist fell to Taylor who bagged his 2nd of the game his shot to powerful for the visiting keeper 6-1. More Nomads chances to extend the lead further all fell to Lawrence, but it was only a matter of time before the experienced striker would get on the score sheet. 7-1 Taylor assist from a well drilled concanen freekick for Dante to bag his hatrick, the scoring was not quite finished two quick goals, Olly completes his three and Lawrence completes the rout. Manager Alan Adamson delighted with the performance gave minutes to all the Nomads subs, Jack Williams, Jamie L and Ivan Lymar
