Alderney Nomads 2 – 2 Northerners res
A beautiful afternoon at the arsenal ground as the Nomads welcomed Northerners reserve team for their latest Lancaster Div 1 venture. An unchanged team for the home side from their 1-1 draw with St Martins res back in August. A quiet start to the game with neither keeper really being tested, Alderney’s 1st corner came on 30mins, but their first real chance fell to Parry, following a pin point Walker free kick, his header was just directed over. Not long after a Parry cross just evaded Poullain who launched forward the ball just couldn’t make contact with his boot. North had two speculative shots that never troubled veteran Taylor in goal. Just before half time the ball fell to Parry again, and what a chance it was, a free header in the 6-yard box that somehow passed the post.

The Nomads continued to press and on 51mins a super cross by Connor was met on the volley by Poullain a super finish as the ball ended in the top corner his first for the Nomads, and a fully deserved lead. 10 mins later Walker made it 2-0 with a fine strike just inside the box. Josh Concanen was so close in making it 3 with a free kick that was parred onto the bar. Against the run of play North scrambled a goal back, and then heartache for the home side. With time added on the ball fell kindly to their no7 who’s cross the box shot was powered into the net. Full time 2-2
